PRE-OWNED VEHICLES AT HASSETT HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE

Friday, March 30th, 2012

C’mon…it’s happened to you. Or at least to someone you know. You see an advertised pre-owned price in an ad, head to the dealership, then find that ‘great low price’ in the newspaper is a sham. The dealer has a whole carload of hidden fees, and before you know it, the actual price is a lot higher.

That can’t happen when you buy a pre-owned car, light truck, or SUV from Hassett of Wantagh. There are no hidden fees. None. “Hassett takes a lot of pride in doing business the right way,” asserts Pre-Owned Manager Sal Rivela. “For over 40 years, this dealership has maintained a reputation for honesty and respect for our customers. When we give you a price on a high-quality pre-owned vehicle at Hassett, that’s the price you pay. No hidden fees…no unwanted surprises.”

Knowing this, it’s easy to understand why Hassett has been Long Island’s #1 certified pre-owned (CPO) volume dealer for the past two years, as well as a nine-time winner of Ford’s prestigious President’s Award. What this all means to you is a worry-free buying experience with whichever pre-owned vehicle you desire.

NEW LINCOLN/FORD CPO RULES

Friday, February 17th, 2012

While everyone else around the country was eagerly anticipating whether “Punxsutawney Phil” and his fellow groundhogs would see their shadows the following day, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Hassett Automotive employees spent this past February 1st initiating exciting new rules for all their certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicles.

What this means for Hassett customers is even greater security and peace-of-mind when they purchase any Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury CPO vehicle.  And when you consider that Hassett has been Long Island’s #1 CPO volume dealer for the last two years, these new rules signify a dealership with a relentless drive to keep improving on their own accomplishments.

“We’re never satisfied with the status quo,” remarks Sal Rivela, Hassett’s Pre-Owned Manager. “Neither are Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury. With our tremendous inventory — the largest selection of CPO Lincolns on Long Island — we could have been content to maintain our prior way of doing things. But that’s just not how we operate.”

To start off, every Ford and Mercury CPO vehicle at Hassett will now undergo an even more rigorous inspection protocol consisting of a 172-point checklist, up from 169. All Lincoln CPOs will have their former 169-point inspection increase to 200 separate analyses. So when someone drives home in their Hassett Ford, Mercury, or Lincoln CPO, they’ll do it in greater comfort and safety, as well as style.

All Hassett Lincoln CPOs will continue to provide a six-year/100K-mile warranty. However, their Ford and Mercury counterparts will take things to the next level, providing seven years or 100,000 miles of confidence and protection, thanks to a new, fully- transferable powertrain limited warranty. And both have quadrupled their previous three-month/3,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty to 12 months/12,000 miles. This new coverage extends to more than 500 components, including many high-tech parts, in the following areas:

• Engine • Transmission • Rear-wheel drive • Front-wheel drive
• Steering • Brakes • Front and rear suspension • Electrical
• Air conditioning and heating• Emissions • Ford audio • Safety

“Our new CPO warranties are as good, or better, than when these vehicles were new,” states Rivela.  “Just as important, Hassett Automotive and our manufacturing partners stand solidly behind every certified car and SUV we sell. This allows our customers to enjoy premium performance while savings thousands of dollars over a new vehicle purchase. And there’s no depreciation like with a new vehicle, either.”

Of course, Hassett didn’t become a Long Island automotive legend by abandoning what works. That’s why all Hassett CPOs will continue to come with comprehensive Vehicle History reports, as well as 24-hour roadside assistance.

As if all this wasn’t enough to convince even the most critical minds that Hassett is the source for complete CPO satisfaction, there’s one more enticement: low financing rates starting at just 1.9%. “That’s why I love my job,” Sal explains: “the savings just keep on coming. Between our highly-competitive prices and extremely affordable financing plans, Hassett makes driving a top-quality Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury CPO a luxury people don’t have to be rich to enjoy.”

“You know, before February 1st, Hassett was already the front-runner in terms of CPO value and quality,” he adds; “ now, it isn’t even a contest.”

CERTIFIABLY SUPERIOR PRE-OWNEDs

Thursday, March 17th, 2011

Let’s face it…

In this economy, everyone’s looking to save a few bucks wherever possible. The trick is to do it without compromising on quality. After all, a bargain isn’t a bargain if it’s a bust!

One of the first places most people consider cutting expenses is their automotive purchase, leading them to search out pre-owned deals. There are tens of thousands of possibilities, and finding the right one at the right price is no small accomplishment. That’s why having an experienced, trustworthy source for a pre-owned vehicle is essential to making sure what seems like “the real deal” truly is! (more…)

Going Out in Style

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

It’s hard to believe the holidays are upon us and 2010 is almost over! It seems like just last week I was writing to thank you for helping Hassett of Wantagh enjoy a successful 2009 and to promise big things in the New Year.

Well, now that New Year has come and gone – the first year of the second decade of the 21st century! That sounds so Buck Rogers-ish, so futuristic … and considering some of the environmental advancements, safety innovations and technological breakthroughs featured on the makes and models Hassett proudly features, it’s safe to say the future is now!

Many of those technological marvels will be featured this month, when Hassett closes out 2010 with two of its most popular events. This year, Hassett was honored with its seventh consecutive Ford Motor Company President’s Awards for superior sales and customer services, and to keep that momentum rolling (and thank our loyal customers and friends), we’re happily hosting Lincoln’s annual “Wish List” year-end clearance and the Ford Motor Co.’s Year-End Sales Event. It’s Your Dime

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Hassett Automotive has been in business a long time. In step with our valued customers, we’ve thrived in economic highs and survived economic lows – name the national economy, good or bad, and we’ve seen it. Twice.

So we know about good business: the significance of customer service, the importance of long-term relationships, the real definition of “value.” We’ve learned a lot over three decades, and right at the top is this: It’s your dime. And you’re going to get the most for it from Hassett.

So Hassett does everything possible to satisfy our customers, new and old. It starts with Long Island’s top selection of Ford cars and trucks, the highest-rated vehicles on the road today – from Super Duty trucks (with the best resale value in their class) to the trendsetting Fusion Hybrid (better resale than Toyota Camry) to the zippy, pocket-friendly Fiesta (better resale than Nissan Versa). Patented craftsmanship and value is built into every car, truck and SUV that rolls off the Ford line, and Hassett is happy to bring it to you. (more…)

Parts of the Whole

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

Every car-insurance commercial promises better rates and faster service. These are the things consumers consider first when shopping for insurance, so this is where little green geckos and supremely intelligent cavemen and Dennis Haysbert feed.

But Anthony Dimola, fixed operations director at Hassett of Wantagh, warns drivers that there are factors just as important as cost and convenience, or more so, when it comes to insurance plans.

Everyone wants to save money. Everyone wants to know that their needs will be promptly addressed, in case of an accident or some other insurance-related matter. But according to Anthony, motorists will lose out in the long run – and are risking their personal safety, and the safety of their passengers – if they don’t read the fine print on their insurance contract. A Win-Win-Win-Win-Win-Win-Win Situation

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

OK, so, you’re one of the all-time most-successful car dealerships in the history of Long Island … you are, in fact, the No. 1 volume dealer of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models in Nassau and Suffolk counties, and you’ve also been known to move a Subaru or two … and now you’ve been honored – for the seventh consecutive year – with the super-prestigious Ford Motor Company President’s Award, which recognizes superior accomplishments in both sales and service … so what do you do?

You party. (more…)

“It” Lives!

Monday, April 26th, 2010

We tell you all the time that “Hassett Has It,” and it’s true … but what is “it,” anyway?

Anyone who’s ever been to Hassett of Wantagh knows we’ve got the cars. Anyone who’s ever dealt with us for repairs or maintenance knows we’ve got the service. And anyone who’s ever bought a vehicle from us knows we’ve got the best prices. They don’t just call us Long Island’s No. 1-volume Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Subaru dealer, you know.

Individually, none of these things are “it.” Not every dealership is as committed as Hassett to the best selection, the best service and the best prices, and these things are critical to our success, but they’re still not “it,” not entirely.

“It” can be hard to define. You definitely know when it’s there and you definitely know when it’s not, but it’s still difficult to pin “it” down. One thing is certain, though: You can’t fake “it.” (more…)

Mercury rising, and rising, and rising

Friday, March 26th, 2010

It’s 80 years later, and Edsel Bryant Ford’s brainchild – a line of cars to fill the price gap between popular Fords and luxurious Lincolns – is still going strong.

The Mercury line has undergone some changes over the years, but remains a mainstay of American ingenuity. Named for the fleet-footed Roman god of commerce, the first car in the line (the Mercury Eight, a.k.a. the “Super Ford”) was designed to be powerful and stylish – and yet economical. After World War II temporarily halted production, the vehicle sped to new heights; by 1950, less than 20 years after the first Eights rolled off the line, Mercury sold its one-millionth car.

By the time “Rebel Without a Cause” James Dean drove a customized ’49 Mercury in the 1955 classic, Mercury’s legacy was set. The 1960 introduction of the Comet (Mercury’s first luxury compact) and the Meteor (a downsized sedan) reflected a growing trend toward smaller cars, but it was 1967 when Mercury burned its indelible mark on American highways with the arrival of the Mercury Cougar, the iconic muscle car. More Than Just a Car Lot

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

We’ve mentioned, once or twice, that Hassett of Wantagh is Long Island’s No. 1-volume Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealer, and not exactly slacking with the Subarus, either. This is more than some statistical claim to fame stamped on a business card. It’s a truth we work hard to maintain, a fact we’re very proud of and, in the end, the ultimate reflection of Hassett’s drive to be the best – and our belief that being the best only starts with the best cars.
Where it goes from there is up to your dealership of choice. At Hassett, we think it should involve a deeper relationship with the customer than the typical browse/haggle/buy dalliance. Many of our customers are repeat buyers – longtime clients who know when they come to Hassett, they’re among friends.

To create and strengthen these bonds, Hassett makes every effort to understand our customers – what they want and need when they come see us, and what they don’t. That’s our definition of customer service, of making a relationship instead of a sale, and it’s just one of the reasons the Ford Motor Company has honored Hassett with its President’s Award for Exemplary Customer Service seven consecutive times.
