Ford Fiesta Is One of KBB 10 Best Back to School Cars

Saturday, August 20th, 2016

KBB 10 Best Back to School CarsKelley Blue Book recently released its annual list of the KBB 10 Best Back to School Cars, and the Ford Fiesta made the list for the second year in a row. Each year KBB selects ten cars they think are best for high school and college students based on safety, affordability, practicality, and style.

The Fiesta is one of America’s most popular small cars and meets all of KBB’s requirements—it’s equipped with lots of safety features and is always highly rated by the NHTSA and IIHS, its starting MSRP is one of the lowest in the industry at $14,090, and it gets great fuel economy at 43 mpg on the highway. Plus, its unique and stylish design is something young people appreciate.

The Fiesta’s versatile features also helped earn it a spot on the list, as kids are more tech savvy than ever and want cars that can meet their need to be connected. Another positive about the Fiesta is that it’s available as both a sedan and hatchback, so it can adjust to students’ needs and style desires.

If you’re a student looking for a car or a parent and want to get something for your child, consider the Ford Fiesta. It’s a versatile, smart choice, and one any driver can afford to buy and maintain.

Ford Fiesta RS

The success of the Ford Focus ST could lead to the creation of a Fiesta RS

When you hear the word “Ford” paired with the term “performance vehicle,” you probably think of things like the Mustang—or the crazy new GT Carbon Fiber supercar. But there are many other kinds of Ford performance vehicles as well, even models based on compact and subcompact models like the Focus and Fiesta. The Focus already has two performance models: the ST and now the RS too. (more…)

Ford Shows Off Fiesta ST on Icy Arctic Landscape

Tuesday, March 25th, 2014

While according to the calendar, spring is now—and finally!—underway, Ford is looking to capitalize on rough winter weather one last time. A training session for the Swedish rallycross team OlsbergsMSE doubled as a way for Ford to show off the special Ford Fiesta ST customized for rallycross racing. The Swedish team took the Fiesta for a spin 200 short miles from the Arctic Circle, preparing for the 2014 Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship.

The test took place in Kall, Sweden, an icy snow-swept landscape perfect for rallycross practice. You can watch the customized Fiesta ST in action in this video; you’ll see it taking out two poor defenseless snowmen in its destructive wake. “Everything is about what you have on the track. Developing the car is one thing, but the most important thing is developing the driver,” OMSE team owner, Andreas Erikkson, says in the clip released by Ford Racing.

You might not be able to race your Ford Fiesta across ice—in fact, you probably wouldn’t want to–but you can come see us at Hassett Automotive to start your Fiesta adventure today!

2014 Ford Fiesta

The 2014 Ford Fiesta is sexy and smart.

When Ford first introduced the Fiesta to the United States in the 1980s, it definitely was not a contender for best styling. Now, the Fiesta is in its sixth generation and just received a stylish and much-needed update for the 2014 model year. For 2014, the Fiesta gets a new Fusion-like grille, which gives it incredibly stylish good looks. And, with the top-of-the-line Titanium trim, you’ll be riding in near luxury. Who knew that could ever happen in a tiny subcompact car?

The Titanium trim gives you heated leather seats, a Sony audio system, ambient lighting, chrome exterior trim, black grille, rearview camera, rear parking sensors, keyless ignition/entry, and HD radio. All of this for a sticker price of right around $20,000. And you’ll be saving on gas too with an EPA-estimated 45 mpg on the highway. Want to get behind the wheel of the stylish 2014 Ford Fiesta?

Come visit us at Hassett Automotive and find that good things do come in small packages.

Ken Block Astounds in His 2013 Ford Fiesta ST

Thursday, November 14th, 2013

Obstacles courses can be fun and incredibly challenging. They can also be a great way to test your skills.  A Gymkhana is a type of obstacle course for cars, and if you’ve ever questioned the athleticism of professional drivers, once you see these courses in action, you’ll never think about that again.

Ken Block, is a professional driver with the Hoonigan Racing Division and recently drove his 2013 Ford Fiesta ST RX43 through his sixth Gymkhana course. The video of him racing through the obstacles may blow your mind!

We think he’s going to need some new tires after all of that drifting. Would you be brave enough to stand on one of those segways while someone was doing doughnuts around you?

Want to see some more extreme driving? You can check out all five of Block’s previous Gymkhana runs online. We think number 5 is pretty amazing and he races through the streets of San Francisco. He gets some serious air over some of the hills.

Which Ken Block Gymkhana is your favorite?

Ford Wins Second Consecutive Engine of the Year Award!

Wednesday, September 25th, 2013

If you drive a Ford car, truck, or SUV, then you know first-hand that Ford makes some great engines. But would you have guessed that for the past two years a Ford engine has been named the “International Engine of the Year”, beating out brands like Audi, Mercedes, and Porsche? All we have to say is – Well done, Ford!!

According to an article on Autoblog, “A panel of 87 automotive journalists from 35 countries are responsible for choosing the world’s best engines, and this is only the third time an automaker has managed back-to-back victories. Voters were impressed by the “Baby EcoBoost” engine’s power output – 123 horsepower between 1,400 and 4,500 rpm, 148 pound-feet of torque from 1,400 to 4,000 rpm – and its compact size; Ford has demonstrated that the package is small enough to fit in the overhead bin of a passenger airplane.”

Currently the 1.0-liter ecoboost engine that won the award is only available in the European Fiesta, B-Max, Focus, C-Max and Grand C-Max. However, the engine will soon be available here in America in the new Ford Fiesta!

All of us here at Hassett are so excited to have the world’s best engine here at our dealership! Keep checking our blog, Facebook page and website for more updates. And if you’re looking for a good laugh, watch Frankfurt Motor Show correspondent Paco Erhard reveal the winner of this award to some Germans. It’s quite entertaining!

Ford Fiesta Makes List of Best Cars for Under 20K

Monday, January 28th, 2013

Anyone searching for a new or used car usually only has one thing on his or her mind – value. This little 5-letter word is what it’s all about when it comes to getting a car. People want to be sure they are getting a car that will run strong for many years down the road and not break the budget on gas or repair costs.

With that said, New York Daily News recently did an article on the top 5 cars for under $20,000, and guess what? The Ford Fiesta made the list. That’s right. Coming in at a starting price of $13,200, the Ford Fiesta not only made the list, it came in thousands of dollars under to $20,000 limit. According to NY Daily News, “It’s always a party when you can get good drivability, impressive gas mileage, and sedan or hatchback options, both for under $15,000. Inside the subcompact Fiesta, there’s room for people over 6 feet and enough price-controlled options to keep drivers of any height happy on their daily commutes. Speaking of happiness, a return of 39 highway MPG (or 40 with the SFE Package) is enough reason alone to keep Fiesta drivers jolly all year long.”

Needless to say, all of us here at Hassett Automotive are thrilled that the Fiesta is getting the recognition it deserves. Interested in taking on for a test drive? Stop by Hassett Automotive, or give us a call at 866-525-9066.
